    In celebration of the francophone culture of Maillardville, faculty pianist Anna Levy with guests, pianist Jane Hayes and saxophonist Colin MacDonald, present hauntingly beautiful works by 20th Century French composers, including Erik Satie and Claude Debussy. Also featured on the program will be works by Jacques Ibert, Charles Koechlin, Colin MacDonald, and Darius Milhaud's Scaramouche arranged for two pianos and saxophone. Tickets $13.00 + GST, Adults/$11.50+GST, students and seniors.

    Richard He, a winner of the 2009 Clef Society Concerto Competition, will perform Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

    Prometheus – Master of Fire and Cosmos

    Be sure to catch the concert featuring Anna Levy and Jane Hayes - the Yarilo Music Ensemble - in a concert entitled "Prometheus - Master of Fire and Cosmos," which will take place at Vancouver's Christ Church Cathedral on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.

    The concert is in honour of distinguished Canadian composer Alexina Louie on the occasion of her 60th birthday, and will compositions by her along with fellow Canadians John Burke and Jocelyn Morlock. The program will feature the North American premiere of Alexander Scriabin's masterpiece "Prometheus - Poem of Fire" in a version for two pianos.
